Go Electrical's Chris Russell to Complete Endurance Challenge to Raise Money for Charity

Chris Russell, our newest employee, is in training to run three marathons and three ultra marathons in aid of Hooves for Healing, which provides pony assisted therapy to children on the autism spectrum and those with mental health issues.

Starting his endurance challenge with the 32 mile Bolton Abbey Train Month next month, followed by the 39 mile Punk Panther Welcome Ultra in March and the Blackpool Marothon in April, Chris will then take on the The Liverpool Marathon in May and the Lakeland Five Passes Ultra, finishing his challenge with the Bournemouth Marathom in October.

Although a keen runner, this is his first attempt at completing a marathon,

"I do a lot of running but these runs will be my first marathons and ultra marathons. I wanted to do this challenge because it almost feels too difficult, and that's the appeal. Otherwise it wouldn't be a challenge. Last year I completed a half marathon and at that time it felt like a challenge because I had never ran that distance before. Since then I have increased the distance I run, completing trail races in Snowden and the Lake District, and this year I wish to complete a challenge that I will feel proud of when finishing it."

Hooves for Healing is a non-profit charity and offers great benefits to those with autism and who suffer with mental health issues, including stress and anxiety.

"I heard about the charity because my cousins daughter attends the centre regularly, and benefits greatly from their progrom so I know first hand the impact it has on young children and I wanted to support them for this reason"

We are extremely proud of Chris' determination, its a fantastic cause and he has set himself a huge challenge, which we are looking forward to supporting and watching him complete. To support Chris and his endevour to raise £2000 for the Hooves for Healing charity you can do so by sponsoring him either in store on Lytham Road or by making a donation via the just giving link below.
